For a 3rd year, we are asking friends, neighbors, and library patrons to Keep Albany Connected on Giving Tuesday. We believe in digital inclusion. That means that all individuals, including the most disadvantaged in our community, have access to and use of information technology. The Albany Public Library is the most important provider of free, robust, internet service to our city. With your help, we can continue to provide access to APL WiFi to those most in need in our community until there is an affordable public internet option available.

You can help by donating to our #KeepAlbanyConnected campaign, or joining in our Speed Test to let us know about the health of APL public wifi. Can we count on you to help bridge the digital divide for your fellow community members?

Our goal is $2200. Thanks to a $500 matching gift challenge from KeyBank, we are sure that we can reach our goal with your help!

Amplify Us on Social Media

Giving Tuesday is driven by social media, by individuals sharing their own stories of giving. Share a message with us, or follow-us, with the hashtag #KeepAlbanyConnected on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or LinkedIn.

What is Giving Tuesday?

Created in 2012 as “a day to do good”, #GivingTuesday has grown into a year-round global generosity movement. From global brands to small businesses, from celebrities to every day grassroots givers, people will come together in a variety of ways to celebrate generosity, give back, and show kindness on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. It’s about ordinary people working together to change the world. Help us inspire a wave of good by using your voice to help spread generosity.

About the Friends and Foundation of the APL

The FFAPL is a non-for-profit organization that provides critical financial support to the Albany Public Library. Through our promotion and enhancement of the APL’s programs and facilities, we help the library to provide education, literacy, career development, cultural enrichment, and lifelong learning to the Albany community.
