On August 11th the FFAPL will be hosting Writers in the Park with a distinguished roster of authors. Local author Elisa Albert will hosting this special literary event. The reading will take place near Soldiers and Sailors Monument, at the North end of the Knox Street Mall. We will have some chairs, but if you can bring your own, that is greatly appreciated.

Hawa Allan

Hawa Allan writes cultural criticism, fiction and poetry.  She is a lecturer at the New School and an essay editor at The Offing. Her work has appeared, among other places, in The Baffler, the Chicago Tribune, Lapham’s Quarterly and Tricycle magazine, where she is a contributing editor. 

Rebecca Schiff

Rebecca Schiff Graduated from Columbia University’s MFA program, where she received a Henfield Prize. Her stories have appeared in n+1Electric LiteratureThe American ReaderGuernicaThe Guardian, and Lenny Letter. She lives in Brooklyn.

Laurie Stone

Laurie Stone is author of Everything is Personal (Scuppernong Editions, 2020) and My Life as an Animal, Stories (TriQuarterly Books, Northwestern University Press), the novel Starting with Serge (Doubleday), and the essay collection Laughing in the Dark (Ecco). 

Anya Ulinich

Anya Ulinich is a Brooklyn-based novelist, and the author of the novel Petropolis. Petropolis, a satirical novel partly based on Ulinich’s experiences as a young Russian immigrant, was named Best Book of 2007 by the Village Voice and the Christian Science Monitor, and has been translated into ten languages.
