The Foundation would like to extend an extra special thank you to Literary Legend Dan Wilcox!
Looking back this Thanksgiving, we want to applaud Dan Wilcox for his gifts to the Library Foundation this year. Dan Wilcox truly has gone above and beyond as a Literary Legend for the Albany Public Library Foundation.
In the early summer, Dan helped to organize an event honoring fellow Literary Legend, Lyn Lifshin. The event, “Poets of Albany Read Their Favorite Lyn Lifshin poems,” featured an evening of local poets, who selected their favorite Lyn Lifshin poems to read aloud. The event was held at the Albany Public Library’s Washington Avenue branch on June 14. We welcomed Lyn Lifshin in attendance and truly appreciate Dan’s hard work and dedication in putting together this event honoring Lyn’s work.
We would also like to express our gratitude to Dan for tabling for our Foundation at the Empire State Plaza this year.
Finally, Dan offered a great perspective in his remarks at our Foundation’s Literary Legends Gala in October 2019. In his speech, Dan remembered great legends of literature who are no longer with us, and also suggested the presence of possible future Literary Legends in the audience.
