The 1987 documentary consists of her poems, as well as interpretations and observations about Lifshin’s life, and works from both herself and others. Lifshin had a highly productive life from her 130 published books and chapbooks to her accomplishments in the teaching of creative writing, she was consistently spreading her words of poetry and encouragement through the community. Lifshin’s literary legend legacy will live on through her many books and teachings that she gave to the community.
Lyn Lifsin was honored at the 2019 Literary Legends Gala. She was a poet with over 130 books of poetry and chapbooks published. When she wasn’t writing, she was teaching creative writing workshops at various hotspots throughout the community–whether it be the library or a college university. Lifshin was the subject of the documentary film “Lyn Lifshin: Not Made of Glass.” She even traveled around the USA, giving over 700 readings of her work.
