We had a special get-together and sale on Tuesday, November 2nd. It was our first Tuesday Book Talk at our new Book Shed. Writer Sarah Van Arsdale read from her new book, Taken.
November 2nd was also the last day of the Delaware Community Farmers Market, which means it was our last regular Tuesday Booksale. We had a big clearance sale from 12pm to 6pm, bringing most all of the boxes out from the shed to sort, and making room for more boxes from Delaware and Washington to move in.
It was a terrific day. We only earned about $200, but somehow we cleared out over 30 boxes of books by the end-of-year clearance sale! We were happy to donate books to Grassroots Givers, Teach My Kid to Read, and to other groups and individuals who stock Little Free Libraries.
Thank you to everyone who came by to hear Sarah read or to get some books. And a big thanks to Wayne and Chuck from Troop 46, and to this year’s super-volunteer, Bill Powhida, who baked brownies for the book talk, just like old times.
We will have another author talk at the shed on November 23rd: Therese Broderick will discuss her new book, Crosswinds. See you there!
