Digital Inclusion Week is coming to Albany October 2-6 with the National Digital Inclusion Alliance! Having accessible internet is no longer a luxury, but a necessity. This week serves as a reminder to ensure that everyone has equal access and opportunity. Millions of people around the world still lack access to a reliable internet connection. In the digital age, the internet provides educational services, job opportunities, healthcare information, and social connections. Digital Inclusion Week serves as a reminder as well as an encouragement to government, businesses, and organizations to expand access to communities in need.
Our Digital Inclusion Week event will take place on Tuesday, October 3rd at APL Howe Branch.
From 12-2pm, FFAPL will “lunch-and-learn” for the Building For Digital Equity virtual gathering. (More info below.) Bring your own lunch, we will have coffee and pastries. Meet other Digital Inclusion advocates in the Capital Region and members of the Capital Region Digital Equity Coalition.
From 3-5pm, FFAPL will be tabling at Howe Branch, talking with the public about Digital Inclusion, ACP, and digital training resources in Albany.
If your group has Digital Inclusion resources to share with the public, drop them off at Howe Branch by Monday evening or bring them to our lunch and learn and we will include them on our table.
We encourage you to take action this Digital Inclusion Week, and help the Albany community. To take action fill out a 2-minute survey provided by the NDIA:
