The Friends & Foundation of Albany Public Library raises funds for Library programs and services through special events, book sales, the annual appeal, grants and sponsorships, and donations by individuals who wish to support the Friends & Foundation’s ongoing mission.
Give to the Annual Appeal!
Every dollar counts, and every donor counts. This year, as we prepare for the centennial of the Albany Public Library and 75th anniversary of the Friends of APL in 2023, we are asking for your support to expand our group of donors and supporters. Please give and also share: ask a friend or neighbor to become a library supporter this year!

Give to the Special Funds
Keep Albany Connected Fund: The APL-AHA WiFi Partnership is supported through December 2023. Each location costs approximately $110 per month for service. We are building a fund to support the service through 2030.
Scholarship Fund: Help develop the next generation of Library Leaders from our own home-grown talent! We are raising $30,000 to invest in our scholarship fund.
Friends Fund: The Friends Fund was formerly dedicated to improvement of the Washington Ave Auditorium, and may return to that purpose. The Friends Fund supports the mailing of our monthly postcard, and subsidizes our National Library Week luncheon.
The FFAPL is a registered not-for-profit organization charity in the State of New York Department of State and all donations to the Foundation are deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
