The #KeepAlbanyConnected campaign aims to extend free APL WiFi to parking lots and outdoor areas of library branches. #KeepAlbanyConnected is one small part of Albany Public Library’s efforts to bridge the digital divide in our city, bringing internet access to more users in the community. This is essential while the library branches currently remain shuttered to patrons and school and work is conducted virtually due to Covid-19 pandemic.
The Washington Avenue library branch (also known as the “Main Branch”) WiFi extender is also now active. Three other WiFi extenders will be set up at other APL branches throughout the city. Stay tuned for more information as they are installed.
Don’t forget that Albany Public Library still has portable WiFi hotspots available for curbside pickup. Hotspots can be requested through the following through the Library Catalog.
