Essential Info and Suggestions

The 7th Annual Literary Legends Gala – Literary Legends @Home – is this Saturday, October 17th.

Thank you for joining us today for #LiteraryLegendsAtHome! When we decided to proceed with a virtual gala in May, we weren’t sure how many of our supporters would join us this year. In this uncertain time, it means the world to us to have so many of you taking part in our celebration! This post contains:

  • Zoom Link & Zoom Room Info
  • Awards Ceremony & Broadcast Info
  • Program Book
  • Info about our special Literary Legends fundraising campaign
  • Hashtags for connecting on Social Media
  • Questions and Suggestions!

Zoom Meeting

All ticket holders are invited to join us for a Zoom meeting which begins at 7pm and will be open until about 9:30pm. The Zoom invitation was sent to all ticket holders on Thursday, October 15th. If you bought your tickets after Thursday at 6pm, we have done our best to get the link to you.

If you do not have the link, call the Friends and Foundation at 518-427-4367 or text “LEGEND” to 518-547-1005 before 6pm. Someone will call or text you back at 6pm with the Zoom link.

When you join the Zoom, you will be in the Main Room. This room will be broadcast and participants are muted by default. There are two breakout rooms for socializing, called Smalbany and Lalaland. These breakout rooms will not be recorded or broadcast. The breakout rooms will be closed from 7:30 – 8:15pm for the awards ceremony.

Special Fundraising Campaign

Donate this weekend and help APL install outdoor WiFi range extenders at APL branches!
Text “WiFi” to 518-547-1005 to donate!

The Friends and Foundation aims to raise $8000-$10,000 to install outdoor WiFi range extenders at Albany Public Library branches. These will extend WiFi service to parking lots and public areas of Library branches. This is a crucial project for bridging the digital divide in our city while Library branches remain closed or limited. [More info]
