The Friends & Foundation seeks a new board member who would like to focus their service on the planning our used book sales at Delaware Branch and elsewhere. Booksales. They are wonderful, aren’t they? They are the mainstay of Friends of libraries programming across the country. Bringing back booksales was a high priority for the merged “Friends & Foundation of Albany Public Library” and as part of our merger, we created a plan in 2019 to hold quarterly booksales based at the Washington Avenue Branch. That plan was thrown out the window in the pandemic. It’s time for us to create a new booksale plan to share with Library staff, and to follow-up with some of our goals from the merger discussion, like meeting the staff and volunteers of other regional book sales (e.g. Schenectady and East Greenbush). Would you like to help create this plan as a member of our board?
