My name is Angelica Kang and my pronouns are she/her. Before moving to Albany in 2018 I have lived in quite a few places including Princeton, NJ; Paris; New York City; a small village in Senegal; New Paltz, NY; and Catskill, NY. I am a Fordham Law School alum. Currently, I am the Chief Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility Officer for New York State Office of Children and Family Services. Outside of my work, I rock climb, arrange flowers, make stained glass art, paint/draw, and obsess over how cute my dog and cat are.
I volunteer my time and help out in whatever ways that I can when I have the time. That’s included:
- writing thank you notes to donors
- volunteering at the Gala
- donating items to the Gala
- brainstorming sessions with the acting president and other board members
- document review for the board
I love libraries because libraries — ideally — are welcoming, safe, affirming spaces where all people of all ages and abilities and types are encouraged to read, learn, and develop their minds.
Meet Our Board posts will be running in the month of March. We want to let the public and our donors know all of the dedicated volunteers who serve on the FFAPL board. And, if you are interested in joining our board, contact us and someone from the Board Nominating Committee will follow up with you.
Angelica Kang is the Chief Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility Officer for New York State Office of Children and Family Services. Previously, she was the Chief Diversity Officer for the City of Albany.
