I grew up in Ilion, NY but have lived in Albany for over 20 years. I received my bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University at Albany, studying communication. I’ve spent most of my career working at UAlbany – first in Annual Giving, then in University Events, and most recently in Corporate and Foundation Relations.
I like to stay busy, so on any given day you might find me: playing volleyball, tennis, golf, or pickleball; volunteering at my daughter’s school or coaching her team; hosting friends and family for a home-cooked meal; or attending community events. When it’s time to recharge you’ll find me home with my husband, my dogs, a big mug of coffee, a blanket, and a book.
My love of books is what originally drew me to the Albany Public Library. But over the years, my relationship with the library has grown. It has become a go-to place to bring my daughter and let her love of books develop. It is a quiet place to work or take a meeting. It’s a place to borrow not only books but games and fishing poles and musical instruments. It’s a place to learn new things, attend interesting events, and meet new members of my community.
I have realized how crucial libraries are to the communities they serve, providing education, literacy, opportunity, connection, and safe and affirming spaces. My desire to support this critical social infrastructure is what led me to join the Friends and Foundation of the Albany Public Library. As we prepare for the centennial of the APL, it’s a unique opportunity to expand our base of support. I’m excited to advocate on behalf of the libraries and to help #KeepAlbanyConnected.
Meet Our Board!. We want to let the public and our donors know all of the dedicated volunteers who serve on the FFAPL board. And, if you are interested in joining our board, contact us and someone from the Board Nominating Committee will follow up with you.
