After graduating from Siena College with a degree in Marketing & Management, I lived and taught conversational English in Japan. Upon returning to Albany from various travels, I worked for New York State government for 14 years. Currently, I am a professional photographer and hold chairs on numerous boards, both in effort to improve the quality of life throughout the Albany community.
I joined FFAPL in 2017 as a board member. In 2020, I was elected Vice President and currently I am the Acting President.

I want to ensure Albany’s communities are empowered by the many resources available through our robust library system. Albany libraries provide opportunities for basic learning and continued education, pillars of community growth and enlightenment. My goal is to make certain our friends and families benefit from these assets.

Meet Our Board posts will be running in the month of March. We want to let the public and our donors know all of the dedicated volunteers who serve on the FFAPL board. And, if you are interested in joining our board, contact us and someone from the Board Nominating Committee will follow up with you.

DTrae Carter is the propietor of Lark Street Photo and is the cameraman behind the beautiful portraits you will see in all of our Meet Our Board blog posts.
